The inspiration for most of my work comes from water, which I instinctively look for where ever I go. In my initial explorations I expressed the sensation and emotion of water. My further investigations have led me to consider what water means for me and what I am trying to find through it. Water is an important natural element (Water, Air, Fire, and Earth) having the power to control life and death. In Korean Taoism, water reflects the essence of human nature. When I observe water I see it can be clean or dirty, peaceful or aggressive, controlled or natural. It has no form, but it can be any form. My aesthetic moves like a stream, avoiding stagnation in developing my ideal creation. The rhythm and harmony I see in water are my inspiration to create work about emotion, experience and life.
